Please note: This position is paid on an hourly basis and limited to 1500 hours per calendar year. The salary range for Scientific Aid is $17.73 – $21.04 per hour.
The Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Remediation Section has an opening for a Scientific Aid in the Site Cleanup Unit VI. The position is located at 320 West 4th Street, Suite 200, right in the heart of downtown LA next to Grand Central Market.
Duties:
Scientific Aid is responsible for providing timely and professional responses to internal/external customers, consistent with State policies and guidance. Scientific Aid supports technical staff by providing information as requested. Scientific Aid communicates in writing and may provide responses to internal/external requests by phone, email, Microsoft Teams, and in person. The Scientific Aid is required to work independently, communicate effectively, manage multiple tasks and become proficient in different online databases used by the State to manage and share information. Proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
