Scientist-in-Parks Intern: Fire Ecology in Alaska's National Parks

The National Park Service Alaska Fire Ecology program will host multiple Scientists in Parks (SIP) intern positions this coming winter season. Two positions will be focused on developing print and virtual media products that promote understanding of forest disturbance, fire-adapted ecosystems, and fire management and planning.
Specifically, the interns will be tasked with the following:
- Science Communication Asst./Fire Management Outreach: create written and digital content for external and internal audiences related to fire and fuels management, fire ecology and monitoring.
- Science Communication Asst./Forest Disturbance Outreach: develop forest disturbance-related visual media to facilitate quality interpretive, educational, and scientific programming in step with a rapidly evolving spruce beetle outbreak.
