Physical Requirements Moving and lifting objects from floor to above shoulders, standing/walking with objects up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Occasional job related travel.
Shift Primarily day shift. Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Some evenings and weekends are possible.
Job Summary The Department of Surgery in the College of Medicine is seeking a Scientist I.
This start-up lab will focus on understanding how innate immune cells regulate the tumor microenvironment, control metastasis and treatment response. The over-arching goal is to discover novel pathways that can be leveraged for cancer therapeutics.
Our multidisciplinary approach will incorporate mouse models, immunohistochemistry, flowcytometry, molecular signaling, metabolomics, spatial transcriptomics/proteomics and RNA sequencing. As a new lab, this employee will play a pivotal role in shaping the lab culture and scientific direction.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, stimulating and collaborative environment. This position will work closely with the Principal Investigator in setting up the lab, performing experiments and data analysis.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Proficient with writing and completion of IACUC compliant small animal care; Advanced lab skills; scientific writing and editing.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No
Preferred Education/Experience Degree in science related field preferred.
