The Research Unit Coastal Seas and Society covers a wide spectrum of applied and interdisciplinary research.

What will be your tasks?

Tasks include a holistic assessment of the effectiveness of coastal protection, offshore energy, and aquaculture infrastructures as hybrid nature-based solutions and the identification of benefits and trade-offs for marine protected areas, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. Furthermore, a systems approach shall be applied and further developed into an applicable ecosystem-based management framework that supports the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of hybrid nature-based solutions. The work shall be based on an analysis of already implemented infrastructures around Europe as well as infrastructures that will be implemented in pilot areas in the Mediterranean Sea within both projects. Furthermore, the transferability of these hybrid infrastructures to other European Seas shall be assessed.

You will work in an international and transdisciplinary project consortium and publish your results in scientific journals and present them at project meetings and at international conferences.
