The research project to be filled addresses the role of macrophages and pericytes in myocardial infarction and reperfusion injury. Using various imaging techniques such as light-sheet fluorescence microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, MALDI MSI and flow cytometric analyses, the regulatory mechanisms of these cell types with regard to their interaction with endothelial cells will be elucidated. Experience with these methods as well as with cell culture, cell isolation strategies, Western blot and PCR analyses is desirable.
