Job Summary/Basic Function

The Marketing and Operations Department GAs will be assigned by the department chair to support the department as appropriate. These GAs may be assigned directly to a faculty member (or members) or to a specific center in the department such as the Sales and Negotiations Center or the Logistics 4.0 Innovation Hub.

NCAA Guidelines

All employees and staff of ISU are bound by all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and must conduct themselves in accordance therewith. No ISU employee (whether paid or a volunteer) shall knowingly influence others to furnish the NCAA or an ISU investigator/compliance officer false or misleading information concerning an individual’s involvement in or knowledge of matters relevant to a possible violation of an NCAA regulation. Failure to abide by this term of employment shall constitute unethical conduct as defined by the NCAA and may result in immediate suspension and/or termination of the employment relationship with ISU.

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities GA responsibilities may vary depending on the assignment within the department. Responsibilities may include:
  • Work with individual faculty performing duties associated with the teaching mission of the university, including course preparation, grading, assessment, in-class support (taking notes, attendance, proctoring quizzes and/or exams), tutoring, office hours, and assisting with program development.
  • Provide research support to faculty by locating and summarizing research articles, performing a literature review, and/or proof reading papers.

  • If assigned to the Sales and Negotiations Center, the GA may be responsible for:
    • Maintaining and updating the social media presence of the Sales and Negotiations Center (SNC) on multiple platforms to ensure that current and prospective corporate partners and students are aware of the activities of the SNC.
    • Preparing marketing materials as needed.
    • Event support.
    • Other duties as assigned by the director of the Sales and Negotiations Center.

 

  • If assigned to the Logistics 4.0 Innovation Hub, the GA may be responsible for:
    • Supporting the Director of the Logistics 4.0 Innovation Hub.
    • Supporting the ISUGEODIS Partnership in Plainfield, IN, by organizing events, conducting research, and managing day-to-day activities of the hub.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Logistics 4.0 Innovation Hub.
