Scottish Invasive Species Initiative Project Officer x2 - Tenders Global

Scottish Invasive Species Initiative Project Officer x2

Deveron, Bogie & Isla Rivers Charitable Trust

tendersglobal.net

Led by NatureScot, the Scottish Invasive Species Initiative, the largest invasive species
control programme in Great Britain, has been operating since 2018. After a successful first
phase and having secured new funding from NRF, we are starting a second phase of activity from 2023 to
2026 and recruiting new staff to add to our team. We work with and encourage volunteers and
communities to tackle invasive non-native species such as Japanese knotweed, giant hogweed,
Himalayan balsam and American mink.

We are looking for two dynamic professionals to join us as Project Officers with our partner
the Deveron, Bogie and Isla Rivers Charitable Trust covering the rivers Deveron, Ugie and
Ythan. It is possible that each officer will have lead responsibility for either the River
Deveron or the Rivers Ythan and Ugie depending on home location. The officers will, regardless
of lead responsibility, work together to ensure delivery of project activities across all river
catchments.

The Project Officers will act as key local points of contact for the project and work with the
Project Manager and project team to deliver our activities and ensure that outputs and outcomes
will be secure after the project finishes. Locally you will be responsible for all or specified
combinations of the following aspects of the project: communications, education and outreach,
volunteer recruitment and management, biosecurity, invasive non-native species control and
restoration trials.
