Following the completion of the technical support programme, this assignment will pilot the developed programme on up to ten companies in various industries in BIH with aim to contribute to production resources valorization and circular business models incorporation. Furthermore, the programme aims to raise awareness on and strengthening capacities of private sector as well as knowledge and skills in the area of sustainable, green, and circular economy.
The assignment should promote good practices implemented in BiH and the region among companies. The assignment should showcase how sustainability makes sense from the business perspective and how average SMEs in selected industries in BiH can recover better and be more resilient with the adoption of circular and sustainable business agenda.
Furthermore, the assignment has a goal to map the circular economy knowledge and skills gaps of selected SMEs and promote the importance and potential of the circular business models. For the pilot generation of the technical support programme, Service Provider will use the results of the assessment reports of circularity of agri-food, metal, wood, construction and packaging sectors, provided by the UNDP, and develop a set of trainings and mentoring sessions for the private sector. Based on the results of the pilot group, UNDP will afterwards design suitable financial assistance for SMEs who consider the transformation towards green and circular business models.
Therefore, the purpose of this service is to design and implement a “Circular Accelerator for SMEs” programme to support a pilot cohort of up to ten SMEs from various industries operating in BiH to embrace circularity, transform their work, and create long-term sustainable value and growth.
