Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) is an independent charitable trust who work to promote,

We are currently seeking ‘Countryside Wardens’ who will be an integral part in
driving our work forward. The post holder will be placed within the Conservation &
Engagement team and will report to the Access and Recreation Manager. They will help oversee
the day-to-day management and responsible access at all FCCT sites in accordance with the
Scottish Outdoor Access Code and deliver the obligations identified in the Service Level
Agreement (SLA) with key stakeholders.
Essential characteristics:
- Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g.,
Countryside Management). Time-served experience in a relevant position will also be considered. - Working knowledge and understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and how it
affects access rights. - Knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Good track record of collaborative working, developing, and maintaining effective
relationships. - Good standard of communication skills
- Responsible character, confident and capable of working independently.
- Confident talking to and conveying FCCT messages to a wide range of people.
- A suitable standard of fitness (able to walk 15 miles and use hand tools like saws and
spades) and able to work in adverse weather conditions. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and be diplomatic, but also
assertive. - Proactive and hard-working attitude.
- A demonstrable personal interest in the countryside and the outdoors.

We have 3 x temporary posts available on a full-time (36 hours per week) basis, with an annual
salary from £23,633 to £25,829. Work will be delivered over a five-day week but will include
regular weekend work and some evening work as required.

We are looking for candidates who can start ASAP and would be able to commit to the role until
the end of October/start of November. Please note, there is potential for one post to retained
on a permanent basis from November onwards.
