Title: Project Manager
Locations: USFS Region/Forest, Duty Locations (all positions can be extended based on funding)
Classification: Seasonal, Wage/Non-Exempt (eligible for Overtime/Compensatory Time)
Salary: $25 – $30/hr., plus paid time off

Position Description:
The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is seeking applicants for two (2) Project Managers to assist with habitat projects on the USFS lands. These positions are seasonal, full-time, field-based, positions that will help deliver the mission of MDF and help deliver projects associated with USFS Agreements. Duration of these positions will be from 4-6 months years pending location and field season. Additional time may be offered dependent of applicant’s performance and field season length Position may be available for rehire for multiple years pending project completion and available funding.
The Project Managers will work closely with MDF staff and US Forest Service personnel to plan, implement, and monitor projects associated with the MDF Keystone Partnership Agreements. MDF’s Regional Conservation Coordinators will supervise and direct work duties within their appropriate territory. Project work will include, but not be limited to: project planning, project layout, timber marking, habitat unit boundary delineation, quality control inspections, monitoring, and other duties. The overall project objectives aim at protecting our communities from wildfire through active forest management, reducing wildfire risk, and enhancing habitat, watershed, and soil conditions for mule deer and other wildlife.

Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Wildlife Management/Science, Forestry, Ecology, Wildfire Science, or closely related fields. Associate degree with 2+ years of experience will also be considered.
