Seasonal Naturalist

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department has one opening for a seasonal 6-month position at Lake Houston Wilderness Park as a Seasonal Naturalist with a start date in September or October, 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Park Naturalist in leading and creating programming at the Nature Center.
• A special project will be assigned
• Assist with animal care and handling
• Assist with camps, programs, and other outdoor recreation programs
• Assist with all aspects of park operations, grounds maintenance, and facility maintenance

Requirements:

• Recent graduate or a college junior or senior interested in a full time 6-month position
• Must be able to work a 40-hour work week including weekends and holidays
• Have a strong interest in the parks, conservation, or animal care fields
• Individuals must be detail oriented, organized, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Housing is provided, and the pay is $13.50/hour
