Secretary General

Europe Jacques Delors (EJD) is hiring a full time (38h/week), Brussels-based Secretary General from October 2025 on. Europe Jacques Delors (AISBL) is a young, dynamic and growing think tank that is looking to strengthen its management team. 

EJD belongs to a “family” of think tanks inspired by the vision and legacy of Jacques Delors. Its creation in early 2020 followed on the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris (1996) and the Jacques Delors Center Berlin (2014). United by a common theme – Penser l’Europe, Europa denken, Thinking Europe – the three think tanks aim to contribute to the debate on European integration. 

EJD research and activities focus on sustainable development and its translation in European policies, notably trade, agriculture, finance, ocean protection and green diplomacy. 

Key roles and responsibilities: 

• Develop and manage both budget and human resources
• Manage the EJD’s research and dissemination programme as well as research staff  Develop and monitor policies and procedures for the research programme
• Collaborate with the DG to create and implement a fundraising plan and attract financial support
• Serve as a key member of EJD leadership team, contributing to the development of a strategy and of its implementation
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and establish partnerships
• Contribute to the launching of the new Jacques Delors-Friends of Europe Foundation

Background and experience

• 10 years of experience in a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in the management and leadership of an organisation.
• Previous experience in a think tank is an asset
• Fluency in English and French is required
• Writing and editing proven capacities
• Experience in leading research teams
• Experience in fundraising and managing a budget
• Extensive knowledge of environmental and European integration issues
• Up to date skills in digital instruments;AI familiarity appreciated Process
