If so, Mid Sussex District Council is looking for a talented and motivated Section 106 Manager to join our Planning and Sustainable Economy team.About the RoleAs Section 106 and Infrastructure Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring growth within the district is supported by the necessary infrastructure and be the key point of contact for developers, infrastructure providers and external bodies such as Town and Parish Councils on infrastructure matters. You will manage a small team responsible for securing, collecting and monitoring developer contributions. You will lead on specific projects and provide expert technical advice on a range of infrastructure related matters, ensuring our policies and procedures reflect both current best practices and the evolving needs of our district.Key responsibilities include:

• Support the Assistant Director for Planning & Sustainable Economy to develop and maintain a high performing professional team responsible for securing, managing developer contributions and infrastructure requirements
• Accountability for securing, collecting, monitoring and reporting on developer contributions monies.
• Being principal advisor on Section 106 governance and providing technical advice to a range of stakeholders
• Leading on liaison with infrastructure providers, developers and Town and Parish Councils to ensure development is supported by the necessary infrastructure and delivered in a timely manner
• Formulating evidence, policy and guidance and managing internal processes and procedures related to Section 106 collection and spend
• Oversee the development, coordination and enhancement of the Council’s corporate governance approach
• Making recommendations for collection and spend and progressing this through the Council’s governance procedures

About YouTo excel in this role, you will need:

• A degree-level qualification, membership of a professional body such as the RTPI would be desirable.
• Extensive experience in planning and/or infrastructure delivery and engagement with infrastructure providers/stakeholders
• Experience in managing and leading a successful team
• A thorough understanding of development delivery and local plan procedures and practices
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide detailed technical advice and present complex information to a variety of audiences including senior leadership, Members at all tiers and infrastructure providers.
• Strong analytical and project management skills to lead on key policy documents and manage competing priorities.
