Security Guard (G2)

Background:

 

Under the daily supervision of the National  Programme Officer in Tiraspol, who is accountable and reports to DHoM the incumbent safeguards staff, visitors and property of the Tiraspol Office of the OSCE Mission to Moldova. The incumbent also provides driving services for the OSCE personnel, transportation of goods and performs other repetitive tasks related to maintenance of the Tiraspol based vehicle.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Under supervision, with specific instructions, the incumbent ensures the security and protection of persons and property in the OSCE Mission:

 

1. Acts as Security Guard at the entry point of the Tiraspol office:

• Screens all persons entering the OSCE premises; admits visitors only upon checking the identification cards;
• Prevents entry to the Tiraspol office of unknown persons, if necessary, after referral to a higher level authority;
• Maintains the registration log of the visitors.

       

      2. Patrols and guards the building and property, entry and exit points:

 

• Conducts established fire and safety patrols throughout the building, monitors the alarm and video surveillance system, inspects and reports fire hazards, defective technical installations, reports to supervisor any unusual circumstances;
• Responds to emergencies affecting the safety of the premises and notifies the supervisor;
• Controls admissions of authorized  personnel and movements of OSCE property into and out of the premises;
• During non-business hours acts as the first point of contact in case if the office intruder system goes on.

 

      3. Performs receptionist duties at the entry point of the Tiraspol office:

 

• Answers standard inquires from all incoming visitors related to basic information about premises and channel their requests to the respective OSCE Mission Members;
• Serves as the reception point for materials and correspondence directed to OSCE Mission Members and ensure proper distribution.

 

      4. Provides driving services:

 

• Transports the OSCE personnel, documents and goods;
• Performs daily maintenance and inspection of the Tiraspol based vehicle.

 

      5. Performs other related work as assigned.

The Mission may ask the selected candidate to provide a Criminal background certificate, issued by national authorities, to declare s/he has not a criminal record.

Necessary Qualifications:

 

• Secondary Education;
• Driving licence and ability to drive 4 wheels drive vehicles with manual and automatic gear boxes;
• Minimum one year experience in security functions in a big private enterprise, bank, national or international organization;
• Fluency in Russian, knowledge of Eglish is an asset;
• Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
• Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
• Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.

 

Remuneration Package:

 

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction is EUR 451. OSCE salaries are exempt from taxation in Moldova. Social benefits include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
