Support in providing safety & security services for the UN in Kazakhstan:
o Support full uninterrupted coverage of the safety and security measures implemented to protect UN personnel, assets (including the premises), and operations.
o Support the regularly conduct premises and/or sector patrols to monitor the status of safety & security measures and identify any possible risks to the safety, security, or wellbeing of UN personnel, assets, and operations.
o Ensure that all equipment (including uniforms) issued under individual, or team responsibility is properly maintained, presentable, and in good working condition.
o Immediately respond to any suspected, possible, or actual threats to safety or security, or any other irregularities as per standard operating procedures, instructions, or best judgement. Such a response may include reporting to the Senior Security Guard and other appropriate personnel. Any actions taken should be recorded.
o Receive, record, and appropriately act on any information received via any means that may impact safety or security.
o Participate in related training, drills, and remain up to date with the latest techniques.
o Perform any other duties directed by the UNDSS Security Advisor.
Support access control at the UN Common Premises:
o Be the first point of contact for visitors, which may include requests for information, access, and assistance in routine and emergency situations.
o Monitor and register all visitors and UN personnel access and egress from the UN premises as per standard operating procedures. Maintain awareness of personnel within the premises at any given time.
o Verify the identity of visitors prior to allowing access. Conduct searches of visitors and belongings as appropriate and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
o Handle deliveries and service personnel in accordance with standard operating procedures.
o Operate access and egress points as appropriate (e.g., gates, doors, etc.), as per standard operating procedures.
o Be courteous at all times when interacting with visitors and personnel, including during times of emergency.
o Provide security support for organized events as requested by UNDSS.
Support Safety, Security and Emergency Communication system and response:
o Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of safety and security systems including, but not limited to, alarms, firefighting equipment, CCTV, and communication networks.
o Respond to any alerts or irregularities as per standard operating procedures, appropriate instructions, or good judgement, and record such irregularities and any actions taken.
o Transmit and receive messages by radio, telephone, e-mail and satellite phone as required.
o Ensure that all security equipment under his/her responsibility are in good working condition, arranging prompt repairs/replacement when required.
o Participates in the regular radio checks.
o Remain up to date with the latest technological systems.
o Maintain chronological files for all incoming and outgoing fax, e-mail and radio messages, ensure timely delivery of messages.
o The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization
