Security Manager

 

Main Purpose

Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures to guarantee security standards are respected.

Plan and monitor all security related activities in the mission.

Recruit, train and supervise security personnel.

 

Reporting to:

Hierarchical: Head of Mission

Functional: Head of Mission

 

Tasks

 

  • Overview the implementation of security policies, protocols and procedures
  • Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
  • Recruit, train and supervise security focal persons and staffs in coordination and in the field bases
  • Guarantee that all the mission staffs understand the importance of the security tools in order to work in a safe environment by conducting and monitoring security inductions for all staff
  • Develop context and situation and risk analysis in order to ensure the correct update of the Security and Safety plans
  • Ensure networking and attend meetings with other INGO Security Managers and officers
  • Under the supervision of the HoM, build networks and liaise with members of security forces, local authorities, communities, and other relevant actors involved in security at the local and national level
  • Conduct or supervise security risk assessments and risk analyses and advise the HoM and Log Co on security measures for INTERSOS offices, project activities and staff
  • Support the Incident Management team in country as focal point in case of crisis management
  • Prepare reports for management on security status and incidents and breaches
  • Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology)
  • Ensure all routes used by INTERSOS staff and vehicles are subject to security assessments.
  • In coordination with the Log Co, maintain a clear approval policy for all movements in the mission, and implement and monitor movement tracking systems
  • Support the HoM with security assessment aspect of proposal.
