This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Personnel Operations Division Readiness/Security Branch, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

This position is a developmental position hiring at the GG-07, the GG-09 or the GS-11 level, with full-performance at the GG-11 level. Current employees at the full-performance level of GG-0080-11 will be excluded from consideration at the GG-07 and GG-09 level.
Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran’s Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
For the GG-07 Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GG/GS-05 performing administrative security duties such as gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare security reports AND carrying out elementary security assignments, operations or procedures or basic tasks pertaining in support of security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-05).

A Bachelor’s Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security, Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarter hours that are closely related to the position. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application.
OR
A Bachelor’s that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarter hours that are closely related to the position. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree supplemented by graduation from the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course (MIOBC) or the Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course (MIOAC). (NOTE: Transcripts and certificates must be submitted with application).
For the GG-09 Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GG/GS-07 reviewing security clearance submission paperwork, preparing access rosters based on clearance records and conducting personnel interviews.

A Master’s Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. OR
A Master’s Degree or Law Degree (LLB or JD) that is supplemented by at least 15 semester hours or 22 quarters hours that are closely related to the position. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
For the GG-11 Level: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GG/GS-09 researching security regulations and other security policy and procedural guidance and applying those policies and procedures to non-controversial work situations.

A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
