The Global Corporate Solutions (GCS) department provides a broad range of shared corporate services that are needed for the effective functioning and mission of the WBG to include: Corporate Security; Corporate Real Estate & Facilities, and Corporate Services. Corporate Security (GCSSC) staff serve at both WBG Headquarters in D.C. and in Bank Group offices in more than 40 countries. The division’s mission is to support global operations by employing risk mitigation strategies and promoting the principle of shared responsibility for security and safety.

General 
Would you like to prepare staff for global travel and provide them with the tools necessary to stay safe regardless of where they are? We are looking for someone to work alongside a team to build the readiness of staff in managing a variety of incidents. Corporate Security’s Security Specialist (Training) will be a part of the Strategic Training and Preparedness team, organizing and delivering training and exercise programs for staff from various units and locations on a wide range of security topics. You have an opportunity to improve the quality and relevance of technical and professional learning, while ensuring that learning is accessible to all, regardless of their geographic location. Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Security Specialist (Strategic Preparedness and Training), the Security Specialist (Training) will drive the implementation of Corporate Security’s learning strategy with a focus on the delivery of a core curriculum for all WBG staff regardless of an individual’s geographic location.

The Security Specialist (Training) will remain informed of various knowledge management practices through the WBG to inform Unit staff and external clients of the resources and systems available and support a variety of deliveries.
In this dynamic role, the Security Specialist (Training) will be responsible for:
(a) Coordinating, researching and employing appropriate methodologies in training and communications in order to execute training programs that contribute to GCSOS’s overall security awareness outreach.
(b) Supporting the development, production, and dissemination of both routine and complex training products, while addressing needs identified by partners, alongside other Training team members.
(c) Ensuring that learning programs and activities are monitored to ensure efficiency, quality, responsiveness and measuring the impact of the training. Incorporate evaluation results from surveys to improve learning activities.
(d) Working alongside the Training Developer to identify areas for improvement and expansion of all GCSSC training programs; coordinate events for all audiences.
(e) Collaborating with WBG internal and external partners and sponsors to deliver learning activities.
(f) Supporting logistics related to GCSSC Training Team activities, including events, trainings, publication, and reporting.
(g) Coordinating training programs with a focus on HQ deliveries. There is also an opportunity for international travel.

Selection Criteria

 

• Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Knowledge Management Development, Learning Development, International Relations, Political Science, National Security Studies or related field.
• Proficiency with common office computer programs;
• Oral and written fluency in English is required;
• Proficiency in a second language (Spanish or French) is required.

Specialized Skills
• Experience with design and implementation of knowledge sharing, learning activities and learning plans.
• Ability to capture and organize information and synthesize knowledge from diverse sources of information.
• Proven ability to deliver projects and activities on time.
• Ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines; ability to organize, edit and draft documents and presentations.
• Ability to use innovative technology and communication solutions to create engaging training products and reach different audiences.
• Skill to deal sensitively in multicultural environments and build effective working relations with staff across the WBG.
• Proficiency in program management, including crafting, planning, and implementing knowledge-related initiatives, collaborating with other teams and facilitating programs and events involving knowledge management and knowledge creation.
