1-2 days a week for Semester 2 (ending before exams)
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
At FORE Australia, we believe no solution should be sidelined simply because it goes unnoticed or misunderstood. As a new non-partisan social enterprise, we specialise in translating complex policy solutions from academics, think tanks, and NGOs into purpose-built formats for Australian public servants, ministerial advisors, and politicians. We are best known for creating Australia’s first one-page-based Solutions Library, a free online resource that ensures when a policy window opens, well-researched and actionable ideas are right there, ready and waiting. Additionally, we offer training programs to help individuals effectively communicate and advocate for their policy ideas. Backed by prominent politicians and ministers in Victoria and the ACT, and partnering with organisations like the Equality Rights Alliance, ThinkForward, and FairFutures, we are set to make a significant impact. Join us as we move to the FOREfront of change.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are excited to invite passionate and driven individuals to join FORE Australia as semester 2 interns. Our semester 2 internship program offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of policy innovation. As an intern, you’ll be an integral part of our team, contributing to the development and launch of Australia’s first online and free Solutions Library. This role exists to amplify the reach and impact of practical policy solutions, making them accessible to public servants, politicians, and the public.
We are offering two specialisations for interns, allowing you to focus on areas that best match your interests and skills:
- Policy Briefs: As a policy brief specialist, you will focus on researching and creating concise, impactful policy briefs. You will work closely with experts from various fields to distill complex policy issues into clear, actionable documents. This will involve synthesising data, identifying key insights, and presenting them in a way that is easily understood by policymakers and the public.
- Video Reporter (Social Media): As a video reporter, you will focus on creating engaging video content for our social media platforms. You will be responsible for scripting, filming, and editing videos that highlight key policy solutions and the work of FORE Australia. Your videos will play a crucial role in raising awareness and driving engagement with our Solutions Library and other initiatives.
During your internship, you will engage in a variety of dynamic activities. You’ll collaborate with NGOs, meet with members of parliament, and your contributions will directly influence the success of our Solutions Library, ensuring it becomes an invaluable resource for policymakers and the community. This is more than just an internship; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference and be part of a movement that transforms how policies are communicated and adopted.
We are looking for interns who can commit to 1-2 days a week online during semester 2 (ending before exams). Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until June 30th.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn and make an impact. You should be passionate about social justice, policy development, and effective communication. While no specific years of experience are required, we value candidates who can demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission and a willingness to engage with diverse stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have excellent research and writing skills, a keen interest in social media and digital communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Whether you’re a university student looking to gain practical experience or a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in the social enterprise sector, we welcome your application.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
At FORE Australia, we understand the importance of a supportive and flexible work environment. Our internships offer the opportunity to work remotely, providing you with the flexibility to balance your commitments. We also offer professional development opportunities, including training sessions and mentorship from experienced professionals in the field. As an intern, you will have access to a broad network of policy experts, NGOs, and government officials, helping you to build valuable connections for your future career. Join us and gain hands-on experience in a rapidly growing organisation dedicated to creating positive social change.
