Semior Research Administrator
Biochemistry
Location: New Orleans, LA
Summary
The Senior Research Administrator for the Center for Cellular and Molecular Diagnostics will focus on multi-disciplinary institutional grants and work intensively with Center faculty on their research programs. The Administrator will oversee the Centers’s focus on research. The Administrator is an experienced research management professional and works with faculty investigators in a wide variety of disciplines including basic scientists, clinician scientists, analysts, and other researchers. The Administrator may co-write and or be funded by grant submissions for the Center. The administrator is responsible for operations, budgets, compliance, development, marketing/strategy, personnel, and other areas not necessarily named here. The Administrator will oversee space and equipment resources.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws related to research
- Ability to interpret and explain laws, rules and regulations, manage compliance
- Demonstrated ability to manage personnel
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills
- Motivated self-starter
- Strong project planning, relationship building and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Required Education and/or Experience
- Master’s degree in a relevant field and five years of experience managing and coordinating research teams, coordinating research studies, ensuring compliance, budget management, and submitting grants proposals and post award management. In lieu of MS Degree 10 years experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Terminal degree
- NCURA Certified
Compensation Information
