Job Title: Senior Accounting Associate
Department/Location: Accounting/ Vienna, VA

Overview: The Senior Accounting Associate is primarily responsible for processing invoices, preparing and reconciling employee/consultant advance schedules, and managing project expenses through our Deltek software. Additionally, you will interface with project office financial and technical staff, prepare monthly project billings, and collaborate during audits by providing necessary information.Attention to detail and ability to respond to inquiries from consultants, vendors, and employees will be essential in maintaining our financial integrity. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while advancing your career in accounting within the international development sector.
This position is based in IBTCI’s home office located in Vienna, VA (currently in Hybrid mode, going to office twice a week).
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the accounting coordinator and provide guidance to home office and project office staff.
- Process invoices through Concur and upload into Deltek software.
- Prepare and reconcile employee/consultant advance/Fee withheld schedule.
- Prepare project & AP expense vouchers.
- Interface with project office financial and technical staff and provide guidance as needed.
- Prepare monthly project billings.
- Collaborate during audits by providing requested information as needed.
- Respond to requests from consultants, vendors and employees by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepare account reconciliations as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years full time experience in accounting or finance, especifically Accounts Payable and Billing.
- Experience with an accounting software.
- Federal contracting experience.
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Oral and written fluency in English required.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business discipline.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience using Deltek.
- Experience using Concur.
- Experience QuickBooks accounting software.
- Experience with USAID contracts.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills.
- Observe the highest standards of business ethics and comply with all laws, regulations, and contract requirements that are applicable to the Company’s business.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently IBTCI is allowing for hybrid work due in the DMV area. This can be updated by the company.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: International travel may be required and may include travel to fragile and/or conflict-prone zones.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the USA.
