We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our friendly, inclusive and supportive team at the University’s School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies. 

You will be part of a team who, working together, ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school’s administration. Your role will be responsible for the effective provision of administrative support for the financial, operational and resource management of the school’s large portfolio of research.

You will provide high-level professional and administrative support in all areas of research and operations, working closely with academic colleagues and collaboratively with other members of our administrative team. You will build strong working relationships and develop a comprehensive understanding of relevant policies and procedures, enabling you to advise colleagues and communicate School-wide as appropriate.

The role includes a variety of administrative, managerial and operational tasks including but not limited to: management and oversight of research finances, oversight of annual research operations and processes, procurement and event support, and team leadership.

You’ll be a flexible supportive team player who can work to tight deadlines and prioritise conflicting tasks. You will have the ability to oversee the work of other staff and to build relationships with various stakeholders. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are key.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract until 29 November 2024.Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
