Do you have experience of successful feminist economic justice organising, campaigning, policy, influencing with / in coalitions, unions and/or women’s organisations, in the Africa region?
Do you have strong technical knowledge of movement building in relation to informal and unpaid women workers claiming of rights and protections, including around budget and public accountability (tax, social protection, services, infrastructure investment)? Or around decolonial, feminist alternative economic systems, debates and metrics, and social and economic norms and narratives that centre women informal and unpaid workers?
Do you have skills and competence in feminist facilitation methods and peer to peer support, use of participatory and inclusive learning methods and tools, as well as technical experience and understanding of, and commitment to, approaches to feminist economic justice including in programming?

The Role:
Oxfam GB is looking for a Senior Feminist Economic Justice Advisor (Africa), to be based in the Africa region. The role will support the development and delivery of Oxfam in Africa’s feminist economic justice and care agenda, to build collective voice and power of women informal and unpaid workers, to shift narrative, norms, policies and metrics around women’s informal and unpaid (including care) work in the economy and society. We are looking for a senior advisor who will provide outstanding technical leadership and support to country and programme teams, including building evidence and learning, thought leadership, and working with feminist economic justice community and partners. The role will provide feminist leadership development, facilitation and peer to peer support, and training, mentoring, coaching, advising to programme teams and countries and partners. The person will work closely alongside regional, programme, affiliate and global leads and be part of a growing decolonial feminist economic justice community at Oxfam. The person will be employed by Oxfam GB and will be located in and focused on supporting the work of Oxfam in Africa.
What we are looking for:
Our next senior advisor will have strong technical knowledge and practical skills, competencies and experience in feminist and decolonial support and collaboration, in pursuit of women’s economic justice and activism in Africa. The right candidates will bring:
A) women informal and unpaid care workers: rights and related public and / or corporate policies, unionisation including home based, representation and collective bargaining
B) feminist fiscal justice/macro economy/care economy: fiscal justice and budget accountability including around tax, social protection, services and infrastructure, debt, austerity, feminist economic data, metrics and indicator frameworks, southern feminist economic leadership and activism
C) social and economic norms, narratives and the interplay between them, in relation to women’s work and in diverse contexts, as well as behaviour change and narrative shift strategies in support of building radical alternative decolonial feminist economic justice futures.
