The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH – founded as OIE) is a leading intergovernmental organisation representing 183 Members worldwide. Through its activities, WOAH makes a decisive contribution to improving animal health, protecting animal welfare and strengthening Veterinary Services. The Organisation provides transparent information on world’s animal health situation, and promotes international standards, particularly in terms of the safety of trade in live animals and animal products. Positioning and reporting Under the authority of WOAH Regional Representative for Europe based in Moscow, the Senior advisor for oversight of regional activities, projects and partnerships (hereafter: Senior Advisor) will work in close collaboration with WOAH Sub-regional Representations in Astana and Brussels and the technical departments based at WOAH Headquarters in Paris. | |
Job purpose The Senior Advisor is a high-level professional, who will facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration, and manage regional coordination respectfully to agreed roles and responsibilities of Regional and Sub Regional Representations in Europe. He/she will play a key role in: supporting the WOAH Regional Commission for Europe, and the Regional Core Group, improving coordination of activities of Regional and Sub Regional Representations, related to animal health, animal welfare, veterinary public health and trans-regional cooperation projects in the European Region,coordinate GF-TADs activities,contribute to visibility and positive impact of WOAH’s initiatives through advocacy, communication and resource mobilisation.Manage projects such as ICG, and any other relevant projects. | |

Requirements | |
Qualifications and Experience Required qualifications – Degree in veterinary medicine or veterinary science. Additional experience – Proven professional experience in the veterinary field, including in management of teams of veterinary professionals. Requirements Technical skills – Strong computer skills in a Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, OneDrive, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as a good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; Additional competencies – Extensive experience in animal health, prevention and control of transboundary animal disease, at a national, regional or international level.
