We’re not afraid to try out new ways of working and we encourage teams to be flexible and adaptive.As part of our Edinburgh based team, you will work to evolve our Digital Channels (native mobile, web, Internet Banking) by adding new functionality and propositions and evolving existing capability through Agile methodology.   • Professional working knowledge in building a mobile experience for variable screen sizes in variable versions of Android
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, co-routines and performance tuning
  • Fantastic knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks and benchmarking and optimisation
  • Proficient in Google’s Android design principles, interface guidelines and code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Hands-on experience of continuous delivery across areas such as code reviewing; understanding of App architectures (i.e. MVVM, MVI) and you’ll be confident with best practices libraries

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • JavaScript WebView bridging, as well as knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services
  • Android Architecture Components
