Senior Aquarist

We’re looking for a Senior Aquarist to dive in and make a difference.

What You’ll Do: 

• Lead by example in the daily care of aquatic animals
• Support, train, and guide team members with compassion and consistency
• Oversee habitat maintenance and collaborate with Life Support Systems team
• Monitor animal health and behavior, and coordinate care with veterinary staff
• Help create engaging habitats that connect guests to with wildlife and conservation
• Ensure our workspaces stay safe, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices
• Collaborate across departments to support education, volunteer, and guest programs.
• Participate in daily dive operations
• Keep clear, accurate records on animal health, system checks, and water quality

What We’re Looking For: 

• 3+ years of hands-on animal husbandry experience
• Strong background in both freshwater and marine systems
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience preferred
• Degree in Marine Biology, Zoology, or related field – or equivalent work experience
• Open Water SCUBA certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• Rescue Diver, First Aid/CPR/AED/O2 certification preferred
• Experience working in a public aquarium setting strongly preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
