Job Title: Sr Associate, Business Development
Department/Location: Business Development- Vienna, VA

Overview: The ideal candidate will support the Business Development functions at IBTCI. The successful candidate will have previous experience in similar roles and will work as part of a team supporting bid development. This position is based in IBTCI’s home office located in Vienna, VA (currently in Hybrid mode, going to office twice a week).
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate specific business opportunities and market trends.
- Serve as the Lead Associate for the tracking of company-wide opportunities.
- Maintain business development trackers and potential procurements across IBTCI Practices.
- Serve as the Lead Associate on the administration of the company-wide tracker.
- Administration of contact and resume databases for the Business Development Division.
- Coordinate and prepare expressions of interest/request for information.
- Support recruitment of staff and consultants for ongoing projects and bids.
- Coordinate proposal efforts, including recruitment, partnering, non-technical writing, and production; priority is given to larger bids.
- Help administer the corporate website.
- Develop/update marketing materials.
- Assist with company/ staff membership, workshop and conference attendance. Coordinate this activity for BD and Practice management/ staff.
- Coordinate with the cost proposal team to prepare cost proposals.
- Help draft non-technical sections on proposals.
- Liaise with partner organizations on business development-related activities.
- Coordinate and support business development meetings.
- Format CVs, bios, and past performance information for proposals, marketing materials and website.
- Serve as the central point of contact on online portals for tender tracking and submission.
- Serve as Lead Associate on formatting of submissions prior to delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- At least two years of work experience.
- At least of one year of experience coordinating capture and proposal process.
- Experience and familiarity with USG/ USAID (RFIs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
- Mastery of word processing, spreadsheets, database use and presentation software (Microsoft Office) required.
- Well-organized, attention to detail and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience using the internet for research.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability required.
- Oral and written fluency in English required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Training/ Education concentration in International Development, International Business, International Marketing.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team and assess priorities.
- Experience with MERL, Institutional Support proposals.
- Proficiency in at least one other language preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, International Affairs, Economics, Business, English or related field.
Working Environment: Work is typically performed in an office environment. Currently IBTCI is allowing for hybrid work due in the DMV area. This can be updated by the company.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Travel: International travel possible and may include travel to fragile and/conflict-prone zones.
Work Authorization: Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
