Job Overview:
The Senior Auditor conducts audits of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) locations and functions that appraise the adequacy and the effectiveness of the IRC’s operating, reporting, and compliance processes and controls.
The Senior Auditor will not only strive to provide the highest level of professional service but also maintain the highest ethical standards and due professional care.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Conduct location and functional audits and special reviews.
• Prepare audits findings that clearly describe the conditions, criteria, cause, effect and recommendations to mitigate control deficiencies and improve processes.
• Adherence to the Institute of Internal Auditors professional standards.
• Assist the Senior Director Internal Audit in continuously improving the audit process through new tools and techniques.
Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
– Minimum 2 years of external and internal auditing
– Experience working in the Not-for-Profit industry, INGO sector, and/or grant-supported organizations
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
– Communications – Written and Oral English.
– Auditing Principles and Techniques.
– Internal Controls and Business Processes.
– MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and VISIO.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business-related field.
Certificates or Licenses: CPA/CA or CIA, or actively pursuing one of those certifications.
Language Skills: Fluency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus.

– Organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.

Working Environment:
• Standard office working environment based in Nairobi, Kenya – hybrid remote.
• International travel to underdeveloped countries up to 50%.
