Innovation Norway is seeking a Senior Business Developer for our London office (other UK location/shared location may be possible).
Innovation Norwayis the Norwegian Government’s official Trade Promotion Organisation and a key instrument for innovation, business development and technology export. As a Senior Business Developer for Innovation Norway’s offshore wind activities in the UK, you will work closely with colleagues across the European OW team to support Norwegian businesses in entering and growing their position in the UK, Irish and European offshore wind market. The work also includes collaboration with Team Norway, Norwegian Embassy and NORWEP.
This is a position with substantial autonomy, and the ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the UK and Irish offshore wind markets and established networks with UK and Irish key stakeholders and authorities.
The following competences are of particular relevance:
- The UK and Irish offshore wind market, technologies, relevant tenders and projects, value chains and supply chains
- Network with key stakeholders (commercial actors and main players, clusters and business support systems, authorities at national and regional level)
- Experience with relevant business models and market fit for various products and services
- In-depth knowledge of offshore wind technologies
- Knowledge of the offshore wind transition in UK and Ireland, including processes of policymaking and legislation
- Project management and execution
Role and responsibilities:
- Identify, document, and promote relevant market opportunities, tenders, and projects in the UK and Ireland to Norwegian businesses.
- Provide in-depth technical knowledge and advice on the offshore wind technologies, needs and solutions.
- Ensure continuous market intelligence in relevant sectors and segments. Conduct and publish market updates. Support digitalisation of market knowledge and tools through Innovation Norway and Team Norway platforms.
- Plan, organise and run webinars, events, and meetings.
- Identify relevant offshore wind market events – organise market visit and delegations to these.
- Ensure proactive liaison and coordination throughout Innovation Norway and Team Norway.
Essential criteria:
We are looking for a hands-on, service oriented, collaborative, proactive, and results driven colleague with a positive attitude. We expect you to have:
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or other relevant field.
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant work experience and proven track record within technology development, business development and/or export promotion within the offshore wind sector.
- Strong knowledge of the UK and Irish offshore wind ssector, technologies, value chains and key stakeholders.
- Commercial mindset, and passion for sales and business development.
- Fluent written and spoken English (English as working language).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Very good understanding of and experience with use of digital office tools (Teams, SharePoint, CRM etc.).
Knowledge of Norwegian language, business culture and industry networks is an advantage, but no prerequisite.

The role reports to Innovation Norway’s Director in the UK and Ireland, based in London and will be integrated in Innovation Norway’s UK and Ireland team.
