About The Role

Anglicare is looking for a Senior Case Worker-Counsellor to provide case management and early intervention support services, including counselling and group work to vulnerable families, children and young people who display early signs or are at risk of developing mental illness.

As a Senior Case Worker-Counsellor, you will ensure service delivery is provided in a variety of settings including Dapto/Nowra office, schools, in the community and home visits. You will provide support, direction to the team and work collaboratively with the Senior Program Manager.

This is a Maximum Term (till June 2026), Part Time (4days a week) role based at Nowra.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Client Needs are Met: by conducting a comprehensive client assessment and providing a family action plan which could include counselling, psycho-education and groupwork.
  • Advocating for clients and building strong partnerships with internal programs to achieve the best outcomes for the clients. Ensure strong partnerships with internal programs to provide strong referral pathways.
  • Providing short term and long-term therapeutic intervention including case management, community education, therapeutic group work and counselling.
  • Valuing all people and giving rightful consideration of people’s cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as Australia’s first people.
  • Ensure the service is well known in the community by participating in community events that relate to the target group.
  • Maintaining a client caseload to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure documentation meets organisational, legislative, and funding requirements
  • Contributes to a positive team culture by attending team meetings, listening to feedback and being a positive role model.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. Social Work, Counselling, Social Science, Psychology, or Behavioural Science
  • NSW Drivers licence
  • Previous experience working with children, young people and their families
  • Previous experience working with and supporting clients who have been exposed to trauma, violence or neglect
  • Member of AASW, APS, ACA, or organisations registered with PACFA
  • Well-developed written, computer skills, and verbal communication skills
