Senior Clinical Supervisor – Gambling Treatment and Research Clinic

• Full time or part-time, fixed term until 30th June 2026. Located at the Brain and Mind Centre- Mallett Street on the Camperdown Campus at the University of Sydney

• Base Salary HEO9, $135,820- $143,310 p.a. (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Senior Clinical Supervisor to lead the clinical service offerings for the GambleAware services across Sydney Central, Western Sydney and Blue Mountains, and South West Sydney.

The role is to lead and manage an experienced team of clinicians, including supervising clinical psychologists, clinical psychologists, financial counsellors, community engagement officers, and intake officers in addition to overseeing clinical interns, and working with the Director and Clinic Manager to oversee clinic functions and professional development across the three regions.

Working closely with the Clinic Director Professor Sally Gainsbury, the successful candidate will be required to oversee provision of clinical services, clinical supervision, training, and clinical governance oversight within the GTRC and its partner organisations, as well as providing leadership to other counsellors and support to the Manager and Director of the GTRC.

Gambling treatment experience is not essential and there is no travel required for this role as it will primarily be based at the Brain and Mind Centre in Camperdown.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• supervise relevant members of the clinical workforce, including intern clinical students, in line with good clinical practice and ongoing professional development
• work as part of the leadership team with the Director and Clinic Manager to oversee the strategic direction and delivery of services
• work with a degree of autonomy in promoting the objectives and activities of the GTRC in the areas of clinical assessment, interventions, and protocols
• provide clinical advice where required to GTRC colleagues and interns.
• assist with training GTRC staff where required including general clinical induction & therapy
• consult with the community engagement officers about new referral pathways and provide oversight, support and guidance to the Community Engagement team
• monitor and report on the Clinical Service Plan, Model of Care and clinical aspects of all other reporting requirements of the GTRC and supervise all clinicians to operate within these guidelines and understand and perform their roles and responsibilities.

About you

• postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Psychology or in a relevant field
• accreditation as an approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia
• registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, Australian Association of Social Workers, or equivalent
• the ability to work independently and in a leadership role
• an understanding of and experience in complying with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines
• demonstrated capacity for leadership, management and development of teams and individual team members
• experience in the provision of CBT combined with clinical supervision to psychology interns.
