It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be approximately once a month.

The Student Casework Office (SCO) is responsible for receiving, recording, referring and monitoring formal complaints and appeals through the appropriate procedures.
With responsibility for supporting the student discipline process we provide advice and guidance to staff who are handling disciplinary cases and administer the meetings of the University’s Central Disciplinary Committee (CDC).
The role
We are recruiting a Senior Co-ordinator to the Student Casework Office. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a busy and diverse team.
The Senior Co-ordinator has day to day responsibility for overseeing the work of the Student Casework Co-ordinators in relation to student complaints, appeals and discipline.
You will be the first point of referral for Student Casework Co-ordinators in relation to complex cases and enquiries acting as an escalation point when required. You will work closely with the Senior Manager, Student Casework in providing advice and guidance on managing student casework to staff across the University.
In addition, you will also act as working secretary to the Central Disciplinary Committee of the University and will support the Senior Manager in providing management information reports on an ad hoc and regular basis.
Skills and experience
- Do you have experience in working flexibly, proactively, cooperatively and responsively sometimes under considerable pressure and are able to adapt quickly to changing priorities?
- Do you have the ability to coordinate the workload of the team, manage your own workload, and escalate issues when required?
- Are you a collaborative worker who is able to build effective working relationships whilst maintaining and achieving service standards?
- Are you able to understand complex information and then disseminate this to non-familiar individuals?
- Ability to think logically in evaluating situations and solving problems
- Do you have staff supervisory experience including coaching, training and managing the performance and development of individual staff members.
