PeterboroughBring your skills to the mix as a Senior Coastal Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in every aspect of coastal engineering on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad.My client specialises in all aspects of Coastal Engineering, within multiple challenging and engaging sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy and Cities & Development. They continue to provide industry-leading coastal modelling and engineering solutions right through the project lifecycle, with value added through client-side support as well as construction phases. Following on from a number of project wins, they are looking to add a Senior Engineer to their established Coastal Team.Working closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions, you will have the ability to plan and direct others in the use of numerical modelling to simulate wave propagation, tidal flows hydrodynamics etc and be able to manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.As a Chartered Civil Engineer with experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design, you will have sound knowledge in ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes and sediment transport. You will possess design experience of coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments and beaches to appropriate codes and standards such as BS6349, EurOtop manual and rock manual.They support flexible working arrangements and are interested to discuss how we can accommodate individual requirements, where there is no fixed 9 ’till 5, no need for a 5-day week, no requirement for a full-time contract, and no requirement to spend all your working time in the office.They offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave.
