As a Senior Commercial Analyst in the Communities Directorate, you’ll play a vital role in shaping financial strategies, providing insightful analysis, and contributing to business optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Modelling, Analysis, and Reporting:

  • Utilise automation tools for data analysis and synthesis.
  • Develop dashboard reporting with tools like Power BI.
  • Build advanced financial models, including 3-way rolling statements and valuation models.
  • Create medium-term business forecasts aligned with organisational strategy.

Operational Processes:

  • Communicate financial information clearly.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Provide necessary financial reporting for Boards and Executives.
  • Drive month-end, budget, and rolling forecast work streams.

Client Relationship:

  • Engage with key stakeholders, building effective relationships.
  • Influence senior stakeholders for positive outcomes.
  • Provide financial coaching and education to non-finance professionals.
  • Deliver comprehensive advice to support decision-making.

Self and Team Management:

  • Actively participate in performance management processes.
  • Manage teams for successful outcomes.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and uphold organisational values.
  • Coach and develop direct reports.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor qualification in Accounting/Finance.
  • CPA/CA qualified.

Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a finance analyst or commercial/business analyst role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large volumes of data and financial modelling.
  • Proven experience in projecting P&L, Cash flow, and Balance Sheet.
  • Experience in developing dashboard reporting and effective presentations.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised, systematic, thorough, accurate, and disciplined.
  • Ability to navigate a complex organisation, forge relationships, and manage through influence.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.

Even Better:

  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, Power pivots, VBA macro.
  • Previous experience in Communities or Not-for-profit sectors.
  • Familiarity with Workday Adaptive Insights and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
