Context/Reporting line:

Under the general guidance of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the overall supervision of the Head of Partnerships & Coordination Div, and the direct supervision of the Media & Communications Officer, the Communications Associate (Multimedia / AV) will be responsible for the following key duties;

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the development and production of IOM Iraq’s podcast series with IOM experts and in-house researchers. The series will be produced, translated and published in three languages: English, Arabic and Kurdish.
  2. Provide specialized support the content collection and development of multimedia and audio-visual packages highlighting IOM Iraq’s operational footprint in the country, the key milestones and project impact. Products from these packages, such as photos, videos, graphics and written stories, will be produced, translated and published in three languages: English, Arabic and Kurdish.
  3. Coordinatethe development of multimedia and graphic design for IOM Iraq’s project research reports, publications and associated social media promotion. All products will be will be produced, translated and published in three languages: English, Arabic and Kurdish.
  4. Support donor visibility requirements for specific projects and donor tracking and reporting for all projects.
  5. Travel to various project locations in the country, including to remote areas, will be required.
  6. Undertake any other communications-related duties, as required by the unit.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 Education:

 

  • University degree in journalism, communication, political or social sciences, international relations, public administration or related field, from an accredited academic university or institute is required.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant training and practical experience in communications, multimedia production, audio-visual production will also be favorably considered.

 

 

Experience and Skills:

                                                                                          

  • At least five years of professional experience, or seven years for candidates holding school diploma, with multimedia and audio-visual production, including photography, filming, editing, sound editing, color correction and working with various publishing formats
  • High level of computer literacy, especially knowledge of Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Microsoft Office
  • Recent experience in field of humanitarian and international development context is desirable.

 

Languages:

 

  • Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish is required.

IOM has a policy of zero tolerance of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by IOM staff members and the employees or any other persons engaged and controlled by IOM Contractors.
