The Corporate Support Vice Presidency provides foundational services necessary for IFC to achieve its development mission. Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Principal Communications Officer, Internal Engagement, this position will work closely with IFC’s Vice President of Corporate Support (COSVP) to lead communications activities originating from the COSVPU Front Office. In addition, the position will lead communications planning and activities across the COSVPU, including information technology, corporate strategy, budget, and facilities.
Qualified candidates must have a passion for private sector development, and a strong track record of performance in corporate and internal communications, preferably working with c-suite stakeholders. Superior strategic thinking and analytical capabilities paired with strong organizational abilities, excellent communication, and people skills are key success factors for this challenging and exciting position.
Specific roles and responsibilities of the position include:
- Play a key role in managing the end-to-end internal communications related to COSVPU initiatives, including information gathering, audience analysis, goal identification, message development, execution, and feedback to inform future communications.
- Draft communications materials, including event briefs, talking points, emails, and Yammer posts, for IFC’s Vice President of Corporate Support to drive and promote engagement within the organization and key external stakeholders.
- Working closely with the COSVP Front Office, provide strategic communications guidance to IFC’s Vice President of Corporate Support. Ensure that all notes, briefing materials, and communications products are of the highest editorial quality and designed to effectively support both programmatic and broader organizational goals.
- Actively liaise with department Directors and Managers to identify communications priorities aligned with the broader goals of the VPU and IFC. Design and execute effective communications strategies for COSVPU priorities to inform and engage staff and facilitate change.
- Prepare and attend meetings with leadership; ensure appropriate follow through on actions, decisions, and commitments. Identify items requiring the VP’s attention, problem solve, and conduct necessary organizational coordination for action.
- Work closely with other colleagues in the Corporate Communications team to ideate, design, and implement compelling internal communication plans, campaigns, and messages across a variety of mediums that resonate with and engage internal audiences to achieve desired business results.
- Incorporate change management communication trends and best practices, as well as new tools and technologies into IFC’s internal communications repertoire.
- Participate in departmental efforts to collect communication metrics and feedback with the intent of measuring the effectiveness of our efforts and informing future strategies.
- Master’s degree in communications, International Affairs, or other related fields with 10 or more years’ experience in communications.
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic communications support to executives and leaders. Experienced in conceptualizing and executing on communications strategies, leveraging a range of internal communications channels (email, townhalls, Yammer, newsletters, etc.).
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex issues into effective oral and written briefs.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with keen attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to think fast and take decisions in a rapidly evolving environment, even in ambiguous situations; effective multi-tasking and prioritization is essential.
- Superior interpersonal skills, including an ability to deal with sensitive issues in a multi-cultural environment and build trust and effective working relations with clients and colleagues. Proven ability to work in matrixed teams, to lead or follow as the situation demands.
- Strong work ethic and unquestionable integrity. High degree of responsiveness with capacity and flexibility to work extended hours and travel as needed.
