What You Will Do:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to join our Central and Local Government team in support of energy, sustainability, and infrastructure initiatives. This person will support the management of our large programs, working with the project team to plan and deliver large program, and also help own and lead our business development activities in the market.

As a key member of the account team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects and workstreams, contributing to project planning, preparing, and maintaining documentation, reviewing contracts and financials, monitoring project activities, and evaluating the overall project performance. In addition, you will work with client stakeholders to assess project performance, identify, and manage risks and issues, keeping clients informed and proactively managing expectations. Finally, we do expect an interest and commitment to helping identify new project opportunities, writing proposals, and supporting account growth.

Responsibilities:

Contributing to project planning, budgeting, and overall strategy

Establishing key performance indicators

Monitoring and evaluating the overall project

Analyzing project data and producing insights to optimize performance

Identifying problems and shortfalls and proposing solutions

Providing operational support such as liaising with stakeholders, tracking timelines, etc.

Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining project documentation and reports

Maintaining project contracts and financials

Support the development and roll-out of our project management methodology, being a coach and change agent to encourage adoption

Supporting business development, including, but not limited to, writing proposals, leading new business presentations, and helping identifying upcoming and future pursuits

What You Will Need:

Bachelors degree

3-6 years’ experience with project management and operations with the Central and Local Government

Experience with stakeholder and financial management

Knowledgeable in all phases of the project management life cycle

Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

Passion for business development and a commitment to support the team’s overall account growth

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Ability to assume ownership of significant portions of tasks while collaborating with a close-knit team

Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines

Demonstrated attention to detail

Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills

An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to travel as needed (~5%; subject to change)

Staff level of hire will be determined by Guidehouse interviewing process

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Management consulting experience

Organization design and transformation

Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint

PMP Certification

Experience developing and delivering presentations to clients or executive audiences

Excellent at visualizing data, synthesizing insights, and storytelling with data
