Your experience could have been gained in the charitable, public or private sectors. You’ll create compelling content that drives the conversation, sparks interest and fuels debate. What’s important is that you know what makes for great content, whether it’s an expertly crafted strapline, persuasive fundraising copy, a thought-provoking story or a powerful idea that inspires someone to act.Accountabilities (duties and responsibilities)Write, edit and proofread content for the charity, across digital and print communications. Ensure all copy is engaging, clear, concise, accurate and adheres to brand guidelines.Work closely with internal teams to deliver on briefs, working to understand their content needs, developing creative responses, working with them to develop solutions, building strong working relationships and managing content delivery in a timely fashion.Uphold the charity’s brand through all our content, ensuring editorial quality, consistent style and tone of voice in keeping with the charity’s branding and messaging guidelines.Regularly identify and generate blog content ideas, and write blogs, in line with our blog strategy to support our communications goals.Work proactively with colleagues across the organization to develop working processes and plans for responding reactively to news relevant to our cause with relevant content.Make use of insight and analytics to improve the quality and relevance of content to meet the needs of all audiences.Support the Content Lead and wider creative team to resource requirements within the team or commission content from external suppliers.Source and interview storytellers who have used the charity’s services, developing relationships, and building and maintaining trust in sensitive situations. Work closely with the Stories Manager, as well as colleagues in caring services, volunteering and other departments.Build relationships with staff and volunteers across the charity – especially in our direct services – to support the creation of authentic Marie Curie content.Support the rest of the content team to develop their writing skills, proactively building their capabilities in creative ways.Work as part of broader project teams incorporating specialists in design, production, public relations marketing, fundraising and digital.Work with the Content Lead to review and develop the charity’s tone of voice and house style.Act as deputy for the Content Lead.To apply, please send us your most recent CV and a cover letter detailing your experience, how you meet the person specification and why you would like to work for Marie CurieMarie Curie is committed to its values, which underpin our work.
