The Imperial CATO team is currently searching for a skilled, personable and talented Senior Coordinator to support our clinical academic trainees, PhD Fellows and other healthcare researchers. This key post administers a varied range of clinical academic training activities and resources in the Imperial Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) . The AHSC links the world-renowned institutions of Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College London, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust to support clinical research, education and training. Your work here will help develop the next generation of medical and healthcare researchers—benefiting patients and populations globally.

CATO works within and supports a multiprofessional and diverse community of clinical academics and researchers. This exciting new role offers an opportunity to play a pivotal part in supporting the delivery of CATO activities in this thriving and evolving environment, and in contributing to the overall Imperial College AHSC vision.

Duties and responsibilities

Working closely with the CATO Manager, CATO Director and other colleagues in a small, busy team; your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing delivery and quality of a range of research education events and conferences
  • Recruiting and engaging with fellows on our research programmes
  • Developing new educational materials and resources
  • Coordinating communications and publicity for CATO activities
  • Working with committees and administering meetings
  • Maintaining web-based tools including websites, questionnaires and communications
  • Supervising the work of CATO Coordinators, ensuring efficient running of the CATO service

Essential requirements

This career opportunity promises to be varied and will utilise to the maximum your experience gained in roles such as, Administrator, Office Coordinator, Training Administrator, Training Coordinator, or similar. You will be experienced in working with learners/professionals in the Higher Education sector, or for the NHS or a research funding body.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with senior members of staff. You will be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as being proactive and working unsupervised when the situation requires. You will have strong customer service experience, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask and be attentive to detail.

This role is full-time and open-ended.

This opportunity is based primarily at the Hammersmith Hospital campus.
