Activity Background:
SoCha is seeking a skilled Senior Copy Editor consultant to support writing and editing assignments aligned with USAID’s writing, styling, and branding guidelines. The Senior Copy Editor will be responsible for high-quality content that resonates with the highest editorial standards, fostering a culture of excellence within the editorial team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality content that resonates with the target audience and achieves the organization’s objectives.
Responsibilities
The Senior Copy Editor will provide the following services:
- Proofreading reports for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, and inconsistencies in language usage.
- Ensuring clarity, coherence, and consistency in the presentation of information and findings.
- Reviewing reports for accuracy in data representation, including numerical figures and statistical information.
- Ensuring adherence to established formatting USAID guidelines and style preferences.
- Checking references and citations for accuracy and consistency with the designated citation style.
- Providing suggestions for improving the overall readability and flow of the report.
- Collaborating with the teams to address any queries or concerns related to the content of the report.
- All edits will be done on suggestion mode (if Google Doc) or track changes (MSWord) to ensure version controls of the document.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in English language editing and proofreading.
- Experience in editing technical or scientific reports, particularly in the field of public health or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with formatting and citation styles used in research publications.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with researchers and project teams.

Period of Performance:
