USAID’s Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) award is a seven-year USAID-funded global award, that works in tandem with country governments and local nongovernmental organizations to provide targeted technical and capacity strengthening assistance and contribute to the global technical leadership and policy dialogue on improving measurable outcomes for maternal, reproductive, newborn and child health, and voluntary family planning. MCGL seeks a Senior Capacity Strengthening Advisor for Data Systems to lead Data Systems activities for an upcoming USAID family planning program in Jordan. The MCGL Jordan program will provide support to the USAID/Jordan-funded Government to Government Partnership for Health in Family Planning (PHFP) program, led by the Ministry of Health (MOH), with aims to promote and provide quality family planning services to the population of Jordan.
The Senior Data Systems Capacity Building Advisor will work closely the Ministry of Health to review and optimize health information systems for the Women and Child Health Department (WCHD) Department and the Health Communication and Awareness Department and foster a practice of using data for family planning programmatic decision-making. Health information systems will include both routine service data as well as data from the recent Jordanian Demographic and Health Surveys or other relevant sources. The Sr Capacity Building Advisor may, with assent of WCHD, also liaise with the demographers at the Higher Population Council, to maximize alignment of methodologies and ensure consistent messaging about the FP program with external stakeholders. The Sr Capacity Building Advisor will be a key technical resource to the MoH with the production of high-quality information to enhance use of FP data for decision making under the COP and work closely with the MEL Manager to support both PHFP and MOMENTUM MEL related activities and reporting.
