Advance NYC is currently seeking a full-time Senior
Director.

This executive-level position reports directly to the Founding
Partners of the company and will be a key member of the Senior
Staff, collaborating with other senior leaders to guide large-scale
company decisions and trajectory. Upon hire, the Senior Director
will be responsible for managing 2 team members and a portfolio of
approximately 4-5 clients. Within 6-12 months’ time, as they grow
more proficient in the role, Senior Directors are expected to
manage a team as large as 6, who in turn manage a portfolio of
12-16 clients.

Senior Directors oversee all aspects of fundraising strategy and
operations for their team, with a broad focus on individual giving,
board development, events, corporate giving, strategic planning,
feasibility studies, and capital campaigns. For client engagements
that include institutional giving, this role will collaborate with
and work alongside our in-house Institutional Giving
team.

This is a partially remote position: while Advance NYC operates
in a virtual office, this position requires in-person attendance as
needed for select client meetings, internal meetings, and other
related tasks in the NYC metro area. Mirroring client schedules,
Advance NYC’s office hours are generally Monday-Friday, 10AM – 6PM
EST, with the occasional night or weekend. Team members may
exercise a more flexible schedule within the 40-hour work week as
client commitments and team needs allow.

Senior Directors assume two sets of responsibilities at
Advance NYC:

Internal Leadership Responsibilities

Manage and develop a team of up to 6
(a combination of Project Associates, Project Managers, and/or
    Project Directors).
    Provide oversight of and mentorship
to team members, both in terms of their day-t0-day work as well as
their overall career growth and goals.
    Guide the team in executing
contractual responsibilities for their client portfolio, ensuring
    consistent excellence of work product.
As part of a small Senior team,
contribute to company-wide decision-making around business
strategy, resource allocation, internal culture, and client
    service.

Client-Based Responsibilities

    Create and manage customized strategy
and implementation plans for clients, designed to achieve
    organizational goals.
Serve as a trusted advisor and
    thought partner to client leadership.
    Build and maintain positive working
relationships with client leadership, Board representatives, staff,
    and other stakeholders.
Serve as the main point of contact
for select clients, including attending and/or leading client
    meetings/calls (mostly virtual).
    Occasional in-person attendance and
presentation at high-level client meetings (i.e. Board meetings,
    funder/donor meetings, etc.).
    Liaise with the Institutional Giving
department on relevant scopes of work.
    Provide oversight of and mentorship
to staff at client organizations when included in a scope of
    work.
Serve as an advocate and external
representative for the company, joining select conversations with
prospective clients and collaborating to refine outgoing
    proposals.
Keep up with field-wide trends in
    fundraising.

A successful candidate will have some combination of the
below experience and skills:

    A career history that demonstrates
continued growth as a development professional.
10+ years of direct experience in
    fundraising for nonprofit
    organizations.
4+ years of experience supervising a
    team of 3+ staff members.
    Demonstrated experience planning and
executing campaigns, managing fundraising goals and projections,
    and increasing fundraising capacity.
    Experience with developing and
implementing sound fundraising strategies and assessment
    tools.
    Excellent interpersonal skills and
    professional demeanor.
    High emotional intelligence with the
ability to navigate challenging conversations and work effectively
within a wide variety of organizational cultures.

    Ability to efficiently manage several
projects simultaneously while prioritizing to meet respective
deadlines; strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to be proactive and to take
on new and complex tasks. You will need to own a project and run
with it when necessary but also be flexible enough to collaborate
effectively with team members and clients.
Strong analytical skills, with an eye
toward problem-solving and streamlining systems and processes.
A strong facility with CRM and data
management systems, and knowledge of best practices for design,

development opportunities, promote from within, and foster a
supportive workplace that allows everyone to place our full trust
in each other and do our best work. The employee workload is
structured to be accomplished within a 40-hour work week, and while

their paid time off.

Advance NYC prioritizes the professional development of our
employees and fosters a community of learning and growth at all
levels of the team. To achieve this, regular check-ins are
scheduled between employees and Advance NYC leadership to identify
each employee’s professional goals and collaboratively determine
areas of growth. From there, we provide opportunities that directly
align with these goals and offer supportive feedback to steer
