Position Overview:

The Senior Director, Middle East (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait) will manage the U.S. Chamber’s day-to-day programmatic and policy work to advance member companies’ interests in in Saudi Arabia as part of the Chamber’s U.S.-Saudi Arabia Business Program and in Bahrain and Kuwait as part of the Chamber’s U.S.-Bahrain Business Council and U.S.-Kuwait Business Council, respectively. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Direct the Chamber’s work in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait across all industries, leading strategy and engagement with more than 200 member companies.
  • Serve members’ business and policy priorities in these key markets.
  • Drive new business growth in these markets.
  • Leverage industry expertise and intelligence to share insights and deliver results.
  • Actively engage members to deliver value through regular connections and touchpoints, news and policy updates, and event invitations and opportunities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for members, governments (both U.S. and in host countries), and other professional organizations for the Chamber’s work in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
  • Provide oversight to staff working on member communications, program development, event planning, and diplomatic correspondence. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience in international relations and/or business associations.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and understand stakeholder issues impacting business in the Middle East.
  • Superior relationship management experience and sales skills.
  • A strong client service ethic.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • A passion for details and an obsession with accuracy.
  • Deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for policy, with an ability to unpack complex topics and turn them into digestible, compelling opportunities.
  • Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber’s value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and an appreciation for the contributions that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
  • Ability to work with high-level executives and government officials.
  • Able to multitask and meet strict deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel internationally.

The salary range for this position is $98,090.00 – $126,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
