Director of Development, Campus Institutes! CU Boulder is a global

The Senior Director of Development, Campus Institutes engages with
key constituents and campus leadership to advance the mission of
the Campus Institutes, including principal gift donors, alumni, and
community members. This includes leading the Campus Institutes
Advancement team and developing collaborative partnerships across
the sophisticated CU Boulder campus and CU system landscape around
the campus’ prioritized health and wellness opportunities.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Leadership & Strategy
  • Serve as the lead Advancement partner for the Campus
    Institutes.
  • Collaboratively with Institute and Advancement leadership,
    create and pursue the strategic philanthropic and engagement
    objectives for the institutes, in alignment with the vision,
    mission, and goals of the Dean of the Institutes and the CU Boulder
    campus.
  • Provide strategy for institute engagement efforts, including
    supervising all Advancement-specific communications activities for
    the institutes.
  • Support any fundraising and engagement objectives associated
    with institute advisory boards.
  • Provide thought leadership, collaboration, and support on
    philanthropic opportunities for the institutes, particularly those
    with the potential of securing $3M+ and/or those with pan-campus
    (multi-unit) elements.
  • Learn and share national best-practice fundraising and
    engagement strategies to increase philanthropic investments at CU
    Boulder.
  • Align institute fundraising activity with campus
    priorities.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Advancement colleagues
    across the CU Boulder campus (including the IFR team), CU system
    (including the CU President’s office), and CU Foundation, as
    appropriate.

Relationship Management & Fundraising

  • In partnership with Advancement and institute leadership,
    define individual and team fundraising goals, including the pursuit
    and management of prioritized relationship-building activities
    (visits, contact reports, proposals, collaborative efforts,
    etc.).
  • Personally pursue individual fundraising metrics, including
    managing a portfolio of 40-50 key constituent relationships,
    focusing on those with the capacity to give $3M+ to the institutes
    or to collaborative cross-campus initiatives.

Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, and manage members of the Institute Advancement
    team, supporting their professional growth and navigating personnel
    matters.

What You Should Know

  • This position will require local, regional, and out-of-state
    travel to meet with donors.
  • This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with
    some days on campus and some days remote.
  • This position will occasionally be required to work
    evenings/weekends.

What We Can Offer

  • The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000
    annually.
  • Relocation assistance and/or a signing bonus may be available
    within department guidelines.

What We Require

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and combination of
    education may substitute.
  • 6+ years of dynamically responsible job-related
    experience.
  • Software Used: Microsoft Office products, donor tracking
    software (Salesforce), Zoom, Teams, LinkedIn.
