Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) is Devon’s leading wildlife conservation charity, with over 36,000
members, 350 regular volunteers, 100 staff and 63 nature reserves. We are one of the larger
locally based organisations that collectively make up The Wildlife Trusts. DWT has pioneered
the reintroduction of beavers in England and the restoration of internationally rare habitats
like Culm Grassland.

Devon Wildlife Consultants (DWC) is the commercial arm of Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT), Devon’s
leading wildlife conservation charity. DWC are looking for a Senior Ecologist to join our
friendly and close-knit commercial consultancy team. We provide a range of commercial services
including wildlife surveys and assessment, developer support, training, and advice to
businesses and landowners. Profits from the company are donated to Devon Wildlife Trust to help
deliver its extensive programme of conservation, learning and engagement activities.

This is a new role which will provide capacity in delivering ecological contracts to a high
standard within budget and on time, and in particular support the senior team through technical
expertise and quality assurance of reports. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Due to
the smaller size of the consultancy, the person employed will need to be able to undertake a
range of work relating to all aspects of ecological consultancy.

This is a full-time permanent post based at Aldens Court, Exeter. However, we will consider
applications on a part-time basis from candidates able to work a minimum of 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours
