We are looking for a Senior Ecologist (12-month contract – maternity cover) to join
our ecology team based at our Buckfastleigh office in Devon. Salary £30k+ depending on skills and
experience, generous leave allowance, additional day of holiday for birthdays, flexible and hybrid
working, access to health care and company volunteering. Potential for the role to become permanent
for the right candidate.
Office base:
Buckfastleigh, Devon (remote working available)
Your role:
Provide technical expertise
and input into a range of services including preparation of mitigation licence applications, EcIA,
Biodiversity Net Gain assessments. Providing input and support in client liaison and project
management and Quality Assurance.
As our Senior Ecologist you will bring:
- Excellent client communication and engagement skills
- Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of
Ecological and Environmental Management - Protected species licence(s)
- A proportional and pragmatic
approach to technical solutions - Excellent written communication skills, ability to produce
accurate, comprehensive and concise reports to high professional standards - Ability to work with a
range of people at all levels of seniority across all sectors - Eligibility to work in the UK
- Full
UK driving licence with access to own car for business use - Ability to work flexibly on species
surveys outside of normal working hours
Desirable:
- Named ecologist on protected species mitigation licences
- EPS class survey licences –
Class 2 bat licence particularly desirable - Relevant academic degree
