Senior Environmental Engineer

Sunnyvale’s Environmental Services Department is hiring! Three Senior Environmental Engineers in our Regulatory Programs, Water Pollution Control Plant and Water and Sewer Divisions are open. Senior Environmental Engineers requires five years of professional engineering experience.  (1) The Wastewater Treatment position in the Regulatory Programs Division supports the Water Pollution Control Plant for NPDES discharge requirements, (1) The Wastewater Treatment position in the Water Pollution Control Plant Division provides engineering services to support process control and coordinate CIP activies, (1) The Civil Utilities position in the Water and Sewer Division provides engineering services for the City’s water system, sanitary sewer collection system, and stormwater collection systems including development review and system CIP.       

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience: 
The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering or a related field, AND
• Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil, mechanical, chemical, or environmental engineering experience, depending on assignment, includes experience in a supervisory or project management role.
