Senior Epidemiologist – UK Biobank Study Enhancements

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.

We are seeking a Senior Epidemiologist for UK Biobank to help expand the resource’s ability to undertake study enhancements. The role will involve the identification and scientific assessment of the most suitable measures for large-scale epidemiological assessment of frailty, ageing and dementia, including the use of in-clinic and home-based devices, wearables and digital apps.

You will also be expected to help develop and implement a programme of epidemiological research, including publishing your work, and will be responsible for line managing staff and students.

To be considered, you will hold a PhD in epidemiology, statistics or a related subject, have considerable experience and an excellent understanding of epidemiological study design and large-scale analysis, demonstrable understanding of emerging data collection methods for large-scale epidemiological research, excellent computer skills including knowledge of statistical packages or programming languages, line management experience and be an excellent communicator.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
