This position has primary responsibilities for the development and implementation of training and education initiatives in equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Senior Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and is primarily responsible for designing, and facilitating equity, diversity, and inclusion educational learning experiences for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Senior Specialist also provides support for Education and Training initiatives for faculty and staff as needed.
Responsibilities include:
• Serve as a point of contact for requests for EDI training for students at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional school level.
• Develops a schedule of ongoing training for students in the academic units.
• Maintain a database of requests and training attendance.
• Assist with development and organization of training for student leaders.
• Assist with student-led EDI dialogues and educational conferences (e.g., Connect at Creighton)
• Monitor related national and local events and trends and create new educational and training content to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills.
• Develops tools and measures to evaluate the effectiveness of trainings and educational materials and provide outcome reporting on a regular basis. • Manage social media technology platforms designed to recruit participants by providing frequent updates on EDI educational and training events and resources.
• Assist with campus-wide educational efforts, programming initiatives, and other Divisional activities as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Psychology, Education, Human Resources) required; master’s degree preferred.
• Experience developing and leading EDI trainings and programming
• 5+ years of related work experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Outstanding interpersonal skills. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong project-management skills with the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks.
• Contemporary knowledge of current events, political contexts, and national issues affecting college students and campus life.
• Familiarity with inter/intra-group dialogue
• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing social media technologies.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time-sensitive deadlines and prioritize workload with minimal supervision; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
