About Uniting: 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior ER + IR Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing specialist ER and IR advice to People Leaders and the HR Business Partnering team. Your focus will be on ensuring timely advice and coaching to People Leaders, aligning with legislative guidelines, promoting positive workplace culture, and implementing better practice HR approaches to operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent HR, IR, and ER advice and coaching to People Leaders and supervisors in accordance with HR better practices, legislative guidelines, and Uniting Policy/process.
  • Offer specialist ER + IR advice within the HR Advisory and HR Business Partner teams.
  • Review and collate material from the business, including preparation and review of letters, disciplinary and performance management processes.
  • Undertake end-to-end case management with a focus on complex cases.
  • Support upskilling of the business through facilitated workshops.
  • Provide inputs to HR Centre of Excellence or Shared Services on improvement opportunities, business perspectives, and contributions to HR projects.
  • Build knowledge banks and other collateral for the People Portal.
  • Analyse case data to understand themes and trends that identify systemic issues at stream or organisational levels.
  • Facilitate the implementation of strategic and operational HR solutions in line with Uniting strategy.
  • Support the consistent design and adoption of new policies, practices, and programs in collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in the field of ER and IR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organised, systematic, thorough, accurate, and disciplined.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing advice to business stakeholders and influencing the decision-making process.
  • Exceptional IR and ER experience balancing employee and organisational perspectives.
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation and organisational policies/processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Generalist Human Resources better practices.
  • Skilled at data analysis and trend mapping.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and deliver to deadlines.

  • Experience working with First Nations peoples.
  • Experience working within a Not-For-Profit environment.
